Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and VisNavigans Inc. when you use Cortalim.

Last updated: 2026

These terms cover your use of Cortalim, the dynamic QR and short-link service run by VisNavigans Inc.. We’ve written them to be read, not endured. If something here is unclear, email support@cortalim.com and we’ll explain it in plain words.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to what’s below.

1. Who we are

In short: Cortalim is a product of VisNavigans Inc., and “we” means that company.

Cortalim is operated by VisNavigans Inc. (“VisNavigans,” “we,” “us”). The service lets you create dynamic QR codes and short links, change where they point after they’re printed, route visitors by device or country, and see how your codes get scanned. When these terms say “the service,” that’s what we mean.

2. Your account

In short: Keep your login safe, give us accurate details, and you’re responsible for what happens under your account.

You need an account to create and manage codes. A few plain expectations:

  • Give us accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current.
  • You’re responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done under your account.
  • Tell us at support@cortalim.com if you think someone else has gotten into your account.
  • You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and if you’re using Cortalim for an organization, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.

3. Acceptable use

In short: Don’t point codes at anything illegal or harmful. If a code is being used to hurt people, we can switch it off.

A short link or QR code is a doorway to somewhere else, so the rules are about where you send people and how you behave. Don’t use the service to:

  • Link to anything illegal, or to content you don’t have the right to share.
  • Distribute malware, or trick people into installing or running harmful software.
  • Run phishing, impersonate someone, or hide a deceptive destination behind a code.
  • Send spam, or scan or scrape the service in ways that strain it for everyone else.
  • Break the law, infringe someone’s rights, or work around the limits of your plan.

We’d rather not police anyone, but we can disable a code or an account we reasonably believe is being used this way, usually starting with the specific code causing harm. When we can, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to fix it. Where there’s a clear risk to other people, we may act first and explain after.

4. Plans, payment & the 5-year plan

In short: The $60 5-Year Starter is a single charge that covers five years. Monthly plans renew until you cancel. Stripe handles the money.

You can start on the Free plan and move up whenever you need more. Here’s how paying works:

  • Free. $0, up to 2 dynamic codes, unlimited scans. No card required.
  • 5-Year Starter. $60 charged once. It covers up to 5 codes with unlimited scans for five years from purchase. It is a one-time payment — there is no recurring charge and nothing renews. We’ll remind you before the five years are up so nothing catches you off guard.
  • Pro and Business. $12/month and $39/month. These are subscriptions that renew each month until you cancel. Cancel anytime and you keep access through the period you’ve already paid for.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We don’t store your full card details — Stripe does that. Prices are in U.S. dollars and don’t include any taxes that may apply where you are. If a payment fails on a monthly plan, we may pause paid features until it’s sorted out, but your codes keep resolving as described in Section 5. If we ever change a plan’s price, existing subscribers get notice before it takes effect, and the 5-Year Starter you already bought is locked at what you paid.

5. The no-hostage guarantee

In short: Your codes keep working, stay yours, and stay reclaimable — whether your plan is active or lapsed. We don’t delete, sell, or hand your codes to anyone else.

This is the promise Cortalim is built on, so we’ll state it as a real commitment, not marketing:

  • Your codes keep resolving. While your plan is active, your codes point wherever you set them. If a paid plan lapses, the code still resolves — it shows a simple fallback page instead of going dead — so anything you’ve already printed keeps working.
  • Your codes stay reclaimable. Come back and reactivate a plan, and you switch your codes right back on with their history intact. We don’t retire the short URL out from under you.
  • We don’t sell or reassign them. We will not delete your codes to punish a lapse, hand your short links to another customer, or sell your codes or their scan history. They’re yours.

The one thing that ends a code is you asking us to delete it, or a code being disabled for the abuse described in Section 3. Short of that, a lapsed account is a paused account, not a lost one.

6. Availability & changes

In short: We work to keep the service up, but we can’t promise perfect uptime, and we’ll tell you before meaningful changes.

We aim to keep Cortalim running smoothly, and code resolution — the part that sends a scan to the right place — is what we protect most carefully. Even so, no online service is up every second. There will be maintenance, and occasionally something will break. We’ll do our best to keep those windows short and, when we can, to warn you first.

We may add, change, or retire features over time. If we make a change that meaningfully affects how you use the service or these terms, we’ll give you reasonable notice by email or in the app. Using the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

7. Liability limits

In short: The service is provided as-is, and our liability is capped — standard for software, but here in plain terms.

We put real care into Cortalim, but we provide it “as is” and can’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or fit every purpose you have in mind. To the extent the law allows, VisNavigans Inc. isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — for example lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — arising from your use of the service.

Where we are found liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits anything that can’t be limited by law.

8. Termination

In short: You can leave anytime. We’ll only close your account for a real reason, and the no-hostage guarantee still applies.

You can stop using Cortalim and close your account whenever you like. For monthly plans, canceling stops future renewals and you keep access through the period you’ve paid for.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms — the acceptable-use rules in Section 3 above all — or where we’re required to by law. Except in urgent cases, we’ll give you notice and a chance to put things right first. If your account closes, the no-hostage guarantee in Section 5 still governs what happens to your codes: they aren’t sold or reassigned, and codes disabled for abuse are the exception, not the rule.

9. Contact

In short: Questions about these terms? Email us and a person will answer.

These terms are governed by the laws that apply to VisNavigans Inc.. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
